Vacation and no more Medicine.

We are back and our vacation was great! It was so relaxing. I would suggest everyone take a vacation to Cancun. After arriving at our resort, Oasis Playa, we immediately relaxed and checked out what there was to do. We took a booze cruise to Isla Muera to shop and snorkel. It was a small island but fun because we rented a golf cart and cruised the island. We spent a day at Playa del Carmen and Cozmel. Cozmel is well known for diving and snorkeling, it lived up to its name. We were able to see lots of fish, turtles, sting ray, eel, and SHARKS. A bit frightening but we didn't get eaten so YAH! There was so much to see and do, I don't think I could write it all. ( shocking....for me)

My baby plans are back to disappointment! After my last entry which talked about how sick I was getting it did not get better. The night before we left on the trip I was very sick. BJ and I talked, we wanted to enjoy the trip and I would stop taking the medicine. Needless to say, the trip was great and I really hadn't realized HOW AWFUL I have felt for the last month. The day after we got back I tried to take the medicine again and was sick for the whole day, much worse. BJ and I have agreed, I will not take the medicine anymore. I have a dr appt May 12 to follow-up so I am hoping to talk about more options. I had tried to remain optimistic that I might be pregnant this month, eventhough I am five days late, I had a negative pregnancy test. The whole process sucks. I just want to reiterate that if you have had an easy time getting pregnant count your blessing!!!

Viva Mexico

We are getting ready to leave. Tonight we are headed to Spokane and tomorrow morning we are flying away to Cancun, Mexico!!! Can't describe how excited I am. This will be our 2nd Wedding Anniversary and a wonderful getaway. Yahhhhh.

I called my doctor yesterday to change the medicine again. I can not live with the nausea and vomiting. Five out of seven nights I woke up sick in the middle of the night. Monday night I vomited for almost two hours. Thank goodness I was at work and was able to go to the ER and they gave me medicine to make it stop. The doctor has prescribed an extended release formula that I am hoping will go better and not cause problems with my blood sugar going up and down. Hopefully this will do the trick or I will be pregnant this month and I won't have to worry about it anymore!

I will be back on the 23rd so I will try to post some pics of our trip.

Good News

Finally some GOOD NEWS. Not to get too personal but yesterday I had some sharp pelvic pain. This morning I decided to use the ovulation kit to see if I was ovulating and IT CHANGED. If I understand correctly this should mean the medicine is working!! The last time I used the ovulation kit it never changed which was my first sign something was wrong. I could not be happier!!!! I know that it will probably still take time before I will be able to get pregnant but I am so relieved that the medicine is working!!!! I have prayed endlessly that I would get a sign that my headaches and nausea were worth it. I feel like God has answered my prayers!!!! Today has been full of BABY MAKING GOODTIMES.
Thank you Lord.

AWFUL Side Effects

Okay I would like to report that the side effects are NOT getting better. Feeling good for a few days was just a tease. For the last two days the nausea has returned! I am waking up in the middle of the night sick, I have a pounding headache all day, and throughout the day I feel like vomit is resting in the back of my throat. It is just wonderful. Maybe this is boot camp for pregnancy but seriously I think it would make it easier if I was working towards a goal. I have no idea if I am doing something different to make this bad again or what the deal is. Sorry to complain but AWFUL is the only word to describe the past couple days. Anyone have some ideas?

The Family Connection

After LOTS of phone conversations with all my female family members, there has been a medical breakthough. WE ALL have symptoms of polycystic ovarian. Hmmm I would like to encourage family members to communicate medical problems. Had I known that my mother and grandmother experienced similar problems I could have passed the information onto my doctor when she asked, "Any family history?" I am glad that the door has been opened for each other to discuss problems, some embarrassing ones too! I would highly emphasize how important it is to share things with your family. My sister has now been tested and is being treated. I spoke to my cousin who was also having problems and is going to be tested in a couple weeks. Although I would love for all of us to be healthy I am so happy to have some answers. I would also like to report the side effects are getting better. As long as I minimize my sugar intake I feel good. I am hoping this will force some better eating habits. I would have been mighty skinny for the last ten years if I would have felt like vomiting everytime I ate something that was bad for me!!

Our baby making challenges!

I have decided to join the blogging crowd. It seems so difficult to keep up with everyone. After reading everyone else's blog and what is going on in their life, I decided this might be an easy way for me to post my life's updates. I also thought this would be a great outlet for dealing with our "baby makin'" challenges. It has been seven months of unsuccessful pregnancy. Two weeks ago we saw the doctor and blood work showed I have a mild case of Polycystic Ovarian Disease. Lab work showed I am not producing enough Follicle Stimulating Hormone to release an egg. The current research is showing it is related genetically to diabetes. Although I am not diabetic they have started me on Glucophage (a common medication for diabetes). Medically speaking they don't know why it works but it has an 80% chance of pregnancy within a year of starting to take it. For now I am taking it and trying to live with the continual headache and nausea. BJ and I are crossing our fingers it works! I would like the nausea to be pregnancy related soon..... For now we will work hard to have lots of Baby Makin' Good Times!!!!
